I’m Emily Mclawhorn, owner of The Hair Maven, LLC. and a certified Hair Loss Practitioner. I specialize in identifying and treating all types of hair loss. As a sufferer of hair loss myself, I can empathize completely with the emotional and physical effects that hair loss can have on us. Hair is a large factor in our self confidence! Hair loss can happen for many reasons. Medical procedures such a Chemotherapy are a very common cause. Hair loss can happen suddenly, or so gradually that we don’t even notice until it is severe. Causes of hair loss range from genetic (male or female pattern baldness) to hormonal, or even environmental. Things like scarring from chemical damage to the scalp, eczema, psoriasis or even severe product buildup can trigger hair loss. However, identifying the cause can be tricky!
